“AY Makun” also known as AY the comedian is a popular figure in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
AY is a stand up comedian, actor, writer, movie producer, celebrity influencer, and Guinness World record holder.
He was born on the 19th of August, 1971; 50 years ago precisely.
He however celebrated his 50th birthday on the 26th of August. It was a big celebration, as it was not only attended by his close families, and friends, but most of his well known colleagues in the entertainment industry.
Some of the celebrities that attended his birthday were Peter Okoye aka Mr.P, Richard Mofe Damijo aka RMD, AliBaba, Ejike Asiegbu, Kanayo O Kanayo, Chioma Chukwuka, Toyin Abraham, Mercy Aigbe, Time Makinwa, Yomi Casual, Alex Ekubo, IK Ogbonanya, Tacha, Alex Unusual, other BBNaija stars and so many others.
Music was also rendered by King Sunny Ade, Tiwa Savage, Dare Art Alade, Reekado Banks, 9ice and so many others.
According to AY the comedian, the presence of King Sunny Ade at his 50th birthday was actually a surprise gift form his wife whom he has known for over two (2) decades.

Thank you for partnering with my friends and families to give me a superlative 50th. But, you must tell me how you got me King Sunny Ade to make it a memorable night.”
That was not the only surprise gift he received, another gift from London. It was an Honoris Causa by Thomas A Becket University, London.

AY now goes by the name, DR Richard Ayodeji Makun. He has officially changed his name after his 50th birthday celebration, but may still be using the stage name, AY Makun.

Celebrating his victory he said, “What looked like an impossible climb is landing me on the 5th floor in style. To God be all the glory.”
AY has been married to Mabel for over a decade, and they have a daughter together. AY is so proud of his wife and family; this is evident with the beautiful words he writes about them whenever he posts their pictures, even, most of the time, they are always in the same attire.
You see, I love the way he celebrates and eulogises his wife and daughter. He also mentions his brother a lot.
His fiftieth birthday which he was anxious to celebrate “No I can’t wait for the big party in Thursday, August 26,” also had celebrity pastor, Pastor Ituah Ighodo in attendance.
