Can too much eyedrop affect your eye?
Now, this was the question I asked myself after I took up a strenuous job in the latter part of 2021.
For three months- September to November, I picked up the job of a content writer in a Digital company to upset my numerous bills. I fell sick in December 2021, for taking up such a strenuous job with low pay, and instantly resigned.
The job took the whole of my mind, brain, body, drained my energy and time. The monthly pay was so small and the monthly target for the articles was high. I was to write 25 articles, two thousand words each every month on a 45k salary.
So, to meet the target, I overworked myself. I worked close to 24 hours Monday through Sunday, for a job that was supposed to be 9-5 Monday to Friday. I took their job personally and even pushed my blogs aside; not writing on them. There was no time to do another job. The job required lengthy research and a lengthy write-up.
My eyes and hands were always on my laptop, I switched back to my phone whenever the battery of my laptop was down. On the road, my eyes were always on my phone researching topics given to me to write about. I suffered, so also my eyes, most especially for someone like me who wears recommended glasses.
So, to relieve my eyes of pain, I resort to using eyedrop. It instantly relieved me of the pain I constantly felt in my eyes and brought so much comfort to my eyes.
I used it every day, frequently. Interestingly, nothing happened to my eye.
So, personally, if you ask me, can constant eye drop usage affect your eye? I would say no based on experience.
However, research has it that eyedrops aren’t for long-term eye care, and, shouldn’t be used daily except you have been directed to use over-the-counter eye drops by your doctor.
