Here is what you don’t know about the Ex-Mavins
Mavins record label started as MoHits in 2004. If you were already a teenager in 2004, you should be familiar with the famous MoHits Record label.
Don Jazzy was the president, while Dbanj was the vice president then. There were great artists like Dbanj himself, Wande Coal, Dr SID, D’Prince and Kayswitch. They made great hits, with Dbanj topping them all.
Some of their notable joint effort hits include:
Booty Call
Pere
My Grind
Be close to you
Move your body
Jasi
Dbanj released great hits like Why me, Mr.Endowed, Oliver twist, Fall in love, Tongolo, Igwe, Suddenly, Scape goat, Olorun Maje and so on.
Wande Coal was next with hits as well. Some of his famous songs include You bad, Ololufe, Taboo, Private Trips, Se na like this, Maga, Se Ope, Who Born the Maga, etc.
Dr. Sid, DPrince also had great hits, but not many songs like Dbanj and Wande Coal. Regardless of one person’s success over others, there was love and unity among them.
However, in 2012, Dbanj exited the label based on irreconcilable differences. That paved the way for Tiwa Savage to join, making her the record label’s first lady.
Another issue popped up between Dbanj and Don Jazzy on the actual owner of the record label, MoHits, which made Don Jazzy change the record label’s name to Mavins.
After the name change, the record label still had Dr SID, D’Prince, Wande Coal, Tiwa Savage, while new artists like Reekado Banks, Dija, Korede Bello joined. Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal, and Reekado Banks have since left the group.
New artists like Rema, Ladipoe, Johny Drille, Crayon, Ayra Starr have joined the Mavins Record Label, and her doing great.
