Here’s the latest update on the 9 years old girl that burnt Ebeano BILLION naira supermarket

Some weeks back, I was with my friends at a training center when one of them started passing her phone to everybody to view the video of a 9-year-old Nigerian girl who was bold enough to set ablaze a big supermarket with goods that were worth billions of naira.

Honestly, after watching the video, I was so demoralized; crestfallen best describes how I felt at that moment.

Then when I got home, I kept pondering on the story of the 9 years old girl, so, my countenance moved from “sad and disappointed” to “anger”, and then I started cursing the real culprit.

There is a possibility that the 9 years old arsonist (An arsonist is someone who intentionally burns a house, car, etc..) was driven by an adult to burn the supermarket.

So, as I was saying, I began to curse the person that used the small child to commit such a heinous act.

The person has succeeded in training that 9 years old to be evil; as in deadly evil if there’s such word anyway.

So to the main gist jare…

On Saturday, July 17, 2021, a nine-year-old girl on a black T-Shirt burnt a popular big supermarket in the Lokogoma area of Abuja, Nigeria. The name of the supermarket is Ebeano. The 9 years old went shopping with her mummy and sister and secretly withdrew from them.

She headed to the sector/shelf in the supermarket where books were placed alongside gas cylinders. Without wasting time, she brought out a lighter which she hid at the back of the books, and put fire first on the books. When the fire increased, the gas cylinders that were beside the books exploded, and in no time, the supermarket was in ruins.

The girl’s story came to light after the CCTV footage of her evil deeds went viral.

Update

The National Child Welfare Policy of 1989 defines a child as anybody who is 12 years or below. However, a draft decree put into law has now set the age of the child in Nigeria as 18 years or below. It is pertinent to note that this age definition of the Convention is already in practice under municipal laws. Parents, and the society at large, are therefore under an obligation to provide their children with proper education and to protect them from exploitation arising from early marriage, employment, and their negative influence that infringe on their rights. (According to Unicef)

The 9-year-old girl’s case is currently being decided. No harsh treatment has been given to her because she is a minor. She would probably go into Justice Juvenile System where she won’t be entitled to a trial by jury; where justice would be based more on facts rather than evidence.

Criminal charges may be filed against her mum, sister, or any adult culprit once it is discovered that their action led to her heinous act or pushed her to commit such a crime.

My Observation:

There is really more than meets the eye on this “Ebeano fire incident” This is not the first time Ebeano supermarket has been engulfed in fire. One happened in Lekki, Lagos in the year 2015. There is really more than meets the eye!

What do y’all think?

But then, I pray for abundant restoration for the owner of the supermarket

What do y’all think they should do to the girl?

Here is what I have to say about this ...
