“Africa 360” was recently launched by BBC 1Extra to celebrate African music and talented artistes. On “Africa 360,” a musician or Dj is featured weekly. The featured artiste or DJ is expected to have a playlist/tracklist of his or her favourite songs from his/her country.
Grammy Award-winning singer- Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun aka Wizkid was the first to be featured. On “Africa 360 with Wizkid,” Wizkid shared his playlist with millions of people all over the world, and it contained 17 songs. Out of the 17 songs on his playlist, 5 were his songs or songs he featured in. He did not even mention his songs that are extremely popular to Nigerians and non-Nigerians; he mentioned songs people hardly know. This his tracklist has coronavirus.
But wait o, did I hear Nigerians and non- Nigerians blast Wizkid because his tracklist doesn’t have Davido’s song. I think those people are not alright. I mean, is it your tracklist? Are you the one that knows the song he is listening to? Must he mention Davido? Does not mentioning Davido’s song mean he doesn’t like Davido or listen to his songs? If he is not listening to Davido at the moment, why force your choice on him? Be careful you amebos..
