Those that know Ogefash very well, would know that aside loving fried rice and fries, I also love ewa agoyin. I prefer to eat it with bread than plantain.
Ewa Agoyin is a soft mashed up beans which originated from the Republic of benin. It is eaten with a spicy pepper sauce.
In all honesty, the spicy pepper sauce is the real reason I love the food, and I wish I could make it.
So, since I don’t know how to make it, I stop by at a food house to buy from the Togolese women or any other delicious food house that makes the ewa agoyin and stew very well.
However recently, I noticed that when I buy ewa agoyin, the ewa agoyin stew doesn’t have much oil in it again. When I check my food plate, the oil no longer floats on top like it used to. I complained to the food seller and guess what she said? The price of palm oil has really really gone up.
There is no way you can make an agoyin stew without using the palm oil. I really hope prices of palm oil and other products will be reduced soon.
I really can’t wait to eat my ewa agoyin with plenty oil floating on top the agoyin stew!
